..just got back from my morning walk. I made it 8000 steps and some, but I noticed that it is getting easier and easier to reach that step count. When I started a couple of month ago I was glad I could walk 2000 in one go and now that number is my after lunch stretch. I really gotten into a routine lately and am beginning to feel bad when I don't get out there and work out.
Over the past months my priorities have changed a lot, where I started out wanting to lose weight , now my goal is overall health. I still want to lose weight, but my focus now is on moving. I want to reduce my diastolic blood pressure number by at least 10 points and want to increase heart health overall with cardio as well as strengthen my immune system. With my arthritis it is an absolute must to keep moving. I have reduced my medication to an occasional dose for pain simply by moving my body. Many medication cause allergic reactions for me so I try to avoid as many as possible hence the no medication rule I have for arthritis. Some days are so bad so that there is little choice.
I walk daily now. Other activities on an every other day basic include my bike, an arm ergometer (excellent cardio), a versatile climber (still learning on this one) and my bow flex for strength training. I do leg work during interval training and have regular rest days.
So If I get now my snacking under control I may actually lose some weight... hahha ha.
But in all honesty I am doing well, I can feel the changes and most of all see some of the results in the fit of my clothes and the way my muscles feel when I am working them.
