From The Front Porch

Over the past few years I have had the opportunity on a several occasions to visit a beautiful cabin built from old tobacco barns. While I love the inside as well as the beautiful path leading to this very special cabin, I find myself most drawn to the front porch and the swing on the end. I still remember my first conversation sitting there. Each time I visit I think about the calming effect it has on me, the happiness stirred that day, the old and new friends that made this very place so special to me. Most of all I love the memories of sitting in that swing and knowing I had found where I belonged. 💜
Last night I revisited this place, gazed fondly at that swing, and was honored alongside one of those new friends found that very first day. She has become one of my very best friends in the time since and it meant so much to be receiving this honor the very same night. I only wish that some particular friends (old and new) that had made that first time so special could have been there with me. I hope they know that, although there were very real and understandable conflicts that kept them from being there, they were greatly missed. 💜
