Day by Day!

Wednesday, June 28, 2017

I'm in another weight loss period. I'm definitely not a rapid loser! I can sit for weeks at the same weight, then drop 6# in a week. I'm down again and had to drop my goal weight again. Great feeling. Eating Keto has changed my life in so many ways! I don't feel the constant need to find a snack or eat on a particular schedule. The first wedding of the year is in 10 days. I look better than I have in 10 yrs! Losing weight for my daughters' weddings this year was not my goal. Getting healthy was. I have accomplished that. I move with more ease, my pain has decreased and I'm no longer addicted to food. Bring on the bacon and butter! Keto is the only way to live!

LOL. I won't be going off the plan during the wedding weekend. I have a plan in place. Besides, I picked shrimp scampi... Keto approved! I'm not tolerating alcohol any more, so that isn't a problem. I usually eat once a day, so don't need to worry too much about the other meals! I found out about Jimmy John's Unwich and have a plan to order them instead of the rehearsal pizza party everyone else is having. This is totally a way of life for us... no reason to cheat... not even for a wedding! Keto On!

That was an original start weight from Spark long ago. Since serious Keto in Nov, about 40# off and 81/4" off hips and 9" off waist. I am not normally hungry during the day, so I eat once a day now... intermittent fasting. I have done a 3 day and 2 day fast as well. Mine was not the dramatic loss initially that some people see, but I had cut waaaay back on carbs before starting and had been gluten free for over 3 yrs, so that was probably why. The inches came off faster than the pounds did. I still have visible fat and probably could lose 15# more. If I never lost more, I'd be OK. I'm now out of the overweight category on the BMI chart and into a healthy weight. I'll let my body normalize where it wants to. I don't use any of the substitute Keto sweet stuff or use any artificial sweeteners. I eat only a small amount of cheese occasionally. We were NO dairy for about 18 months, but husband healed and is now able to tolerate it, so I have it around again. We always had butter, that didn't bother him. He ate 10 tart cherries from the tree that he used to love and had some major stomach/bowel upset. Going back is not really an option anymore! Neither of us tolerate alcohol now either. It's all worth it for the health benefits of this lifestyle!

    Deb,
    great great ...

I see you are down about 65 pounds. That is a lot. Was that all with Keto, or did you loose some before starting Keto?

Great job. I use a lot of what I've learned about Keto but moderated it with help of a RD.
