Fixing a Mistake

Today's coaching assignment is to blog about a mistake and how it makes me feel, and what I did to fix it.
And I actually am making a mistake today! So - perfect timing.
Last weekend, I made a batch of vegetarian chili. I put all the ingredients in the recipe calculator, and determined that 1/8 of the batch was 361 calories. I ate some, froze some, and put one container in the fridge for today's lunch. The mistake is, I can't remember if I really ended up with eight equal portions, or if it was six, or only four. The portion I had for work just seemed too big.
Now eating some extra wouldn't be the worst thing. But I do like to be precise in my tracking. I left a bit back, although what I'm going to do with such a small amount I'm not sure. Freeze it I suppose. I might have still eaten more than a serving should have been. I can adjust for the rest of the day; I know it's not a big deal. But it bugs me that I messed up my measurements.
Next time, I will weigh the whole batch once it's cooked and write down what one serving should weigh. And yes, that means weighing the empty pot ahead of time!
