Something Different

Saturday, October 07, 2017

If you followed my original journey you are well aware of my focus on balanced nutrition and no gimmicks. At that time I had nothing but time to focus on meal planning and preparation, outlining and executing my workouts religiously.

Fast-forward 9 years. What's different? Very little time available for the meal planning/preparation and working out. I'm squeezing in a few minutes of exercise a couple days a week but there needs to be a lot more of it.

My meal planning/prep is pretty much non-existent. I have made my list and this weekend I will at least get some soups going so that I have something easy to fall back on when the day went sideways and I don't feel like cooking (or eating for that matter). I know it's all about baby steps and persistence.

My wife found a weight loss supplement program that she seems to be having some success with. She convinced my to give it a try and I agreed I would give it three weeks (that is the introductory kit) to see if it would help. Really, I'm not looking for a "magic pill" as I know there absolutely is no such thing. It's definitely something different for me, and if it will help me build the momentum getting started, why not?

Hi there. I totally understand the struggle with meal planning when life gets in the way. But its what I have always done and will continue to do because it is the only way I can stay on my fitness program. Otherwise all hell breaks loose. You will get it back together when you are ready, but in the meantime, have you checked out atkins.com? - With exercise, the Atkins way of eating is fabulous for me emoticon emoticon . You have to enjoy 'meat" as your protein though or it won't work. I scrolled through your 2009 weight loss journey and congrats to that dedication and discipline. I am approaching 60 so this was the wake-up call for me. I don't have a lot of weight to drop, but I am terribly unfit so meal planning is a must and exercise is like a 2nd job!!! Just joining the vent with ya and wanted you to know you are not alone in the kitchen :~)

    Take Care,
