Morning walks are the best. Right after 8 am it's quiet and fresh outside. I wait until 8 because the Elementary school is about 350 yards from my front lawn and the busses come past... not to mention all those teachers and parents that drop off their kids. But right after 8 am everything is quiet again. Peaceful even. It's the time my cat and all his friends from the neighborhood meet on my front stoop and demand to be fed. .. only to move on and do the same over at the neighbors house and then up the road again... Ritual, habit, routine! Don't you love it. It is what makes us stick to what's important, like morning walks and bike rides and yoga for those who can. It makes us successful. Leaning from nature.
I had a good walk this morning, even a spring in my step and only a few twinges in my joins. Got a good clip going and made 35 minutes and a little over 4000 steps. That felt like a really good workout. Good thing to, cause we had company over last night and I made dinner and we all had Key Lime pie for dessert. I am glad I shared it, otherwise it would have ended up all in our bellies(hubby and mine) over the next two, three days. This way was better, but still so many calories. Last time I buy this one, has twice as much calories as the other pies. ungh..
