Starting today the morning temperatures for my morning walk are actually going to require a light jacket ( 36 by Friday morning). It has finely settled into Fall. My yard has a leaf cover, but nothing for me worth raking yet. I am starting to take out spent plants, and cut back some of the shrubs to get ready for the coming winter. I'll lay hay around most plants that like it cold but not freezing. It never gets that deep freeze anyway here, maybe a day or so....
I been walking and increased my steps to 7000 this week. So far so good. .. and I added back a bike ride and the bowflex for my arms, shoulders and upper back. One of my new goals is to not eat in front of the TV or computer... TV no problem, computer is harder. So I "failed" that goal the first day. I guess it's like any other new habit to form; it will take time and reminders till it's sunk in. I'll get there.
My other project that gives me fits is a queen size quilt I made for my daughter in law for Christmas. I have to get it ready by Thanksgiving, because that's when I see them next and with weather and all we might not be able to go there or they here for the holiday. So we got all their stuff together and they take it to put under the tree. I made this pretty two tone quilt for her and its all together and sewn, but not quilted yet. I machine piece and then hand quilt. ...the problem is the design. My mind has gone blank and I been looking thru my templates for days to come up with a good layout and design to make the quilt special. I'll get there, just time is starting to run short to get it done. I actually love two tone quilts and I made a lot quilt tops this summer to work on in the next year. All these are lap or children's quilts, the kind to keep on the back of the couch and pull down when you cuddle in to read a good book or take a small nap.
