Saturday's trip to the scale brought mega happiness. In 25 days, I lost 17.1 pounds. That is more than I've ever lost in one month and I still I have a week to go until officially 1 month since I started weighing myself. I would like to say this is all about getting healthier but I would be lying - part of it is about the number on that scale. I want it to be smaller, and smaller, and smaller. Like it or not, that's the biggest measure of success.

Regardless, I am thrilled at the progress I've made. I am no longer the heaviest I have ever been, so that's something all on its own. But I have another 50+ pounds to go before I end up where I was in 2009 when I made my first big push to lose weight, and lost almost 100 pounds.

I've given myself a very definite goal weight, but I have to say, if I got back to where I was in 2010, I wouldn't hate myself. I'd still be overweight, but if I had the level of fitness I had then (I was working out 5-6 times a week, eating right, all of my numbers were great) then I could live with that.

Not that I am going to stop when I get there. But it wouldn't be the worst thing ever.
