crock pot

I been playing with my slow cookers and crock pots... is there a difference? I don't know; I use them all the same way anyhow. But I been playing with my 3 pot station today and testing things out for Thanksgiving, kind of a "dry- run" .
I made sweet potatoes in one... in away like a baked potato, but instead I made it in the crock pot. I was reading about that today and wanted to test it. I placed 2 sweet potatoes in the pot, no nothing else -no water, no nothing. I pierced the potato all over and put the lid on. After 4 hours, which I spent napping, reading and playing a game on the computer... I sliced my potato, added a dab of butter and a bit of brown sugar and mixed it all up inside the skin. I was left with the most delicious, creamy sweet potato I ever tasted. No more baked potato for me, I am telling you "this is the way to go!" lol It was really that good.

I also made a small ham and tested out a potato casserole recipe. which is going to need some tweaking. Hubby and I liked it, but it could be better. So while all my food cooked in the 3 pot station I was free to do whatever I wanted. Best of all, we could eat when ever after the meal was cooked, since it stayed on warm until we were ready to eat. Who needs an oven.. lol.
