Getting “healthy”

Today on SparkCoach the thought is to share my goals. I know I’ve shared mine many times here with different teams, with my wonderful Spark friends and in several blogs.

My Streaks:
300 days: Log in to SparkPeople every day!

In checking back I see I’ve logged in 99% of the time since I joined over 5 years ago. I do know the 26 days I didn’t log in I was on a plane, in a hospital or otherwise not able or interested in logging in.

So today I’m not wondering about my goals so much as why haven’t I achieved the major one that I started out with which is “healthy” on the BMI Chart that my doctor uses and is printed out on every visit.
I’ve gone from “obese” to “overweight”, have maintained that for a couple of years now. The last few pounds to put me in the “healthy” category are very doable. So what’s the holdup?
Procrastination, plain and simple because I’m retired, the family is well, hubby is doing fine and the only person I need to work on is me. I literally have no excuses!

    You really CAN do it, ya know. Maybe you are like me: tired of the fight.
    Good for you that you are so close to the healthy weight! I still have so far to go.

    It is very easy to let guards down when things are running smooth. Last year was a rest year for me i guess. Not literally, but my mind lost sight of my daily goals. At the beginning of this challenge I found myself 15 pounds from my goal weight. I had hovered within 5 pounds for several years. 2018 I have reminded myself that I exercise and eat right for my heart and grand kids. I remain so curious about their unfolding lives. I want to be alert and available to them as long as God allows me. Daily discipline sounds boring, but with my right mindset it is all I need. We can do this thing! Congratulations on going from obese to overweight category. That is a very big deal! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Procrastination is SO easy though isn't it! I know I will never be in the healthy weight as I have lost 7 stones but sure it hasn't all gone and my healthy weight is not maintainable, unless I lose a leg or arm - ha ha!!!
