there is always a reason

I planned on cooking for the week... but ended up feeding a friend.
I got a phone call about 11 am from my daughters mother-in-law (say that three times fast) that she was on her way back from Fort Worth with another load of boxes for me... mostly yarn and fabric. I am on her way home, about 20 minutes before she hits Abilene, where she, and my daughter and her family live. So when she comes back from anywhere... she stops on her way by. Today she looked so tired and since she arrived in time for my food to be done we were able to feed her and give her a break and good cup of java before sending her back on her way. Let's face it, this woman is exhausting and I am saying this in the nicest way possible. I am always happy to see her and my hubby is happy to see her go again. But make no mistake... we love her.
My hubby was joking that I planned this and lunch was ready just to conveniently for him to believe other wise. But I truly did not know until she called, but by then most of the food was already cooked.
