Day #91 Obesity Is a Condition

This is such a true statement for me.

Just like when I don't pay attention, my cholesterol numbers go up and I am faced with changing my life or going on medication, the same is true of my weight. If I don't get on the scale I am faced with having all those physical problems attached to being overweight!

These lessons have given me the incite to see my reasons for turning to food. They are procrastination, anger and hurt feelings.
All are temporary conditions that are not fixed with food. I also know how easy my body adjusts to going back to the urge to use food as an answer to problems. So I plan to continue to monitor the gains and losses.

Ah...I TOTALLY get the "not paying attention" bit.
Sometimes I say, "Who cares if I'm fat, as long as I'm fat and happy?" (which I mostly am)
"Besides, I'm a pretty good cook who loves to bake." (I think this will be the ruin of my weight loss journey....especially when Mr. Husband wants me to bake goodies.)

But this isn't about me...well, comment so far has been about me. emoticon

    Let's get back to YOU!
    Procrastination, Anger, and Hurt Feelings....

Hey, I know! Why don't you come to my house?! I have a sofa with a chair nearby. We can take turns lying on the couch while the other play psychotherapist (emphasis on "psycho"). emoticon
Or we could just sit on the deck by torchlight with food grilling nearby and music playing while we laugh each other "well."

    I love you, Girl.
    Hope to see you soon.

Yes I agree with you Phyllis. I too 'suffer' in this way and have to 'keep an eye' on the ball at all times.
Procrastination is a weakness of mine too, lets emoticon emoticon

OH Yes!! You and I are in the same boat, Phyllis! Just trying to stay healthy and keep those numbers down. Obesity was a huge problem in my family in my grandpaent's generation. My parents, aunts and uncles did a little better but still had constant problems with the numbers. My generation is doing better yet. None of my kids or grandchildren have a weight problem. Still, I have 20 lbs to lose and it isn't going away. I have to work harder and I feel like the young folks have to know that I tried because I wasn't heavy at their ages either.

    Together we CAN!
