It looks like winter is back in Paris this weekend. So I decided to share with you my walk last Sunday by the river in Auvers-sur-Oise, about 15 minutes away from where I live.
I have been on many walks and hikes around here and last Sunday was perfect weather for a beautiful late winter walk! I followed the Oise river for a while and then turned into the woods…
The Oise borders had been crowded (well in my view… you know that if I meet a couple of people during a hike I feel like it is too much, haha!)… But as soon as I was in the woods, and later in the fields it was all quiet.
Well, yes, it is the end of winter, so although it was sunny it was also quite wet!!!
Ahhhh this is probably my favourite picture of that walk... I love it when the fields are bright green like this! Spring spring, you are approaching fast!
After about one hour of fast walking (my sciatica was ok-ish so I tried to make the most of my afternoon!), I went back to the river side, walking back against the sun towards Auvers-sur-Oise.
Some trees were covered with catkins, one of the signs of approaching spring that I prefer!
Catkins and daffodils and narcissus… I have some narcissus (or are they dwarf daffodils? I don’t know!) in my garden at the moment and they make me so happy! I can’t resist showing them to you:
I also added some on my kitchen’s windowsill so they are the first thing I see on the morning when I open the shutters!
But back to my walk enjoying the Oise and the boats!
I was glad I was able to do this 2-hour walk, even though it was nothing compared to the hikes I did just a few months ago.
But one step at a time, I do hope to be able to hike again soon. I just started some physio for the sciatica and I have a scan at the end of March to see what exactly is going on. I guess after almost 4 months it is about time, but I was always convinced it would improve by itself, as it always did!
Thank you for sharing my walk in Auvers-sur-Oise! I hope you enjoyed it as I did!
I am off to Slovenia for work on Tuesday (a lovely Balkan country South of Austria if you are wondering where it is!)…
I have never been so I am really looking forward to that visit and I hope I can find time to take some photos so that I can share them with you…
Enjoy your weekend!
