Last night was a rough one. It took me 4+ hours to fall asleep, and I got so hungry. Finally I caved... and had a banana, a glass of water, and went back to bed. It didn't entirely wipe away the hunger but it took the edge off and after another hour or so, I dozed off. Without anything else passing my lips. I was so proud. Nighttime, with my insomnia, is so hard for me. That's how I've been dealing with the insomnia. "Well, I've laid here awake another 2 hours, I guess I earned a donut!" I can't do that anymore, but it's a hard habit to break. But one night a time, I will break it. I won last night, and I am proud!
Today has been better. I woke up around 6 am, starving again, and had another banana. {Yes, I eat a lot of bananas... they're a quick zero point food for me, and I find them more filling than other fruits.} I went back to bed after that and slept a few more hours. When I woke up it was nearly time to wake Hubs and go microwave shopping, so I just drank some water and waited.
We went out and stopped at Wendy's to get some {healthy} food so we could just hurry and go find a microwave. Hurry. Ha! It took 4 stores before we found a microwave. All we could find were really small ones or really big ones. Apparently Baby Bear and Papa Bear haven't been microwave shopping but Mama Bear is on her game. We were getting close to resigning ourselves to a microwaveless state for a few days until we could get one delivered, but we finally stumbled across one, and she's a beaut!
Our quest to find a microwave took us out by a Metro Park we hadn't been to in a couple of years. At least not since we moved to this side of town. Since I had made the promise on here that I was going to walk for 10 minutes today, I sweet talked Hubs into walking on a trail with me for 10 minutes. I couldn't miss the opportunity to check out a park and get some fresh air, especially since I was planning to take a walk anyway. I must say though, with the cold weather dragging on and on {it was only in the mid 40s today!}, Spring is taking her sweet time getting here. You can see just a bit of green in this photo.
We ended up walking for 11 minutes. It was nice to be out in nature, moving my body. I was dealing with quite a bit of pain by the time we were finished, which tells me that I need to prepare for longer walks with a healthy dose of ibuprofen. I had on new shoes, so my feet felt better than they have recently. That was nice, and good timing for the shoes to come today!
Once we finished at the park we headed for home so we could switch out the microwaves and Hubs could relax some before his pre-work nap. It took us almost 3 hours to find a microwave so most of the evening was wasted. I had a grilled chicken salad with a piece of French bread for dinner, and plenty of water today.
Now I'm about to try again to make a bag of popcorn and hope the microwave doesn't blow up! I'm going to have some yogurt and blueberries with it. Yum. And that'll leave me a few emergency points for tonight, to fight insomnia.
Hope everyone had a great Saturday!
