I am eating my words, I said I would never do a diet that cut out a food group but I am going KETO.. IF did not work for me I got shaky and in my feast window I ate too much and got sick or not enough and was hungry all the time, my workouts were hurt b/c of it . I started doing the calorie counting again and then a couple days ago I talked to my SIL and she changed my mind about KETO. She told me she lost 150 pounds, she has done KETO for the past 3 years with her biggest weight loss her first year. She is now maintaining, she walks 7 miles a day, weight trains 3x's a week, she went from a 26 pant to a 1/2! She has a cheat day a week though it is not an extravagant cheat, it is a meal and maybe a couple drinks like margaritas. It has helped with her depression (she lost her husband 5 years ago ), she told me she has not weighed 110 since she was 12. I listened to her and did more research, my son has done it and lost 50 pounds in 2 months, her blood work is great and so is his , based on that I am going to give it shot. The mediterranean diet can be tweaked for KETO which is not only a WOE I am interested in but also a WOL. I am now on board, today is my first day and I have eaten too much protein and fat, but have held my calories in check and my carbs, learning curve. I need to hit my goal, it has been 11 years since I joined Spark with many ups and downs, medical set backs, and I am going to hit goal or darn close this year!
