It Works

It's been quite a year! My parents health failed and I moved them into Assisted Living. Within 7 weeks, my Mother passed away and my Father was in the hospital. He passed exactly 3 months later. All very fast and not the usual progression of aging. Through it all I maintained my Keto lifestyle. Through days in the hospital, funerals, family visits and busy schedules. There is NO excuse not to continue. My health has changed as well and until I get it sorted out, I am primarily eating meat and fat. It hasn't killed me! I'm narrowing it down and think I have an enzyme deficiency. All the tests done in the ER didn't tell me this... just good old fashioned research. We have a trip to Australia planned in October for 3 weeks and we will maintain strict Keto while we are gone for 3 weeks... after all, where in the world can't you get meat and fat? Eating any other way would make me more unwell than I feel now. It's not really an option, but it's for LIFE!

There is never a good reason to "fall off the wagon"... just excuses. My husband and I would be very ill if we went back to the old way of eating. We will never go back to that. I did a LOT of research before I started this. Knowing what the carbs do to your systems helps you to see it as poison... who wants to ingest poison?

So sorry for the loss of your parents. It's amazing that you were able to stay keto. Last year when my Mom passed I gained 16 lbs. I have since lost and I'm working on my last ten to meet goal. Have an amazing trip!!

Thank You. There are really no options to quit now. My body is sooo sensitive to carbs. Even too many veggie carbs give me pains. It keeps me honest for sure.

Oh wow! My sincere condolences to you. Both my parents passed away w/in 3 mtns. of each other last year. It's difficult!

My prayers. And FOR SURE, it is utterly important to keep yourself a priority in these stressful times.
