Thyroid Issues / Dr Wentz
Friday, May 25, 2018
I’ve been suspecting that some of my symptoms may be related to low thyroid. I’ve got some nerve sensation in my arms, I’ve had trouble with mild constipation and awful fatigue unresolved with my CPAP treatment. I’ve also had depression. I can eat like a bird and not lose weight which is one reason I haven’t put pressure on seeing the scale change but focusing on switching up as many habits as I can bit by bit. I’m waiting to see what the labs come back showing. In the meantime I’ve been reading up on an elimination plan Dr Isabella Wentz speaks of for thyroid issues that she says there’s evidence many people can largely reverse Hashimoto’s. (If that’s even what I have ... I’m ahead of myself).
In light of all that I’m considering moving to a largely vegetable and meat diet for 40-90 days. No grains, no dairy. I’ve had challenges implamenting trial diets in the past. Getting 100% compliant and staying there long enough to know if it’s working. I’m trying to think through what I’ll need to do to over come my previous obstacles. I do think I’m in a different place than I was when making the past attempts and maybe that will be the difference. If it obsolves my symptoms and helps my body function than it would be worth the efforts. I’ll also have to deal with what my diet will be if it does work. I’m trying not to get too far ahead of myself before I begin. If you’ve dealt with thyroid imbalances and or Dr Wentz protocol let me know. I’d appreciate your insight.
