Thoughts

Thursday, July 12, 2018

I am generally and pen and paper journal person. I journal just about daily during the school year. Summers, not so much. I am missing the routine this morning so I thought I'd pop on here and just jot a few thoughts down. Nothing inspirational, nothing Earth shattering. Just random thoughts. The summer is going really well! It is mid-July and we have completed to big dreams that we've had for a long while. The first was that we climbed Mt. Katahdin. Jon has been wanting to do this for years. I've held us back, not being in good enough physical shape. I've worked hard this year and it payed off because we were able to summit on Summer Solstice! It was an amazingly difficult and gratifying day. I couldn't be more proud of us. The other major goal was to take a road trip to Toronto and camp along the way. We did that last week. I was amazing we stopped at Niagara Falls on the way. We drove through Ontario and Quebec with no troubles! We never once got short with one another, we didn't even have to use a GPS! Just maps. I am a firm believer that if you can travel well with your significant other, you can get through anything together! We have also been getting in lots of movement. Both outside and at the gym. Tomorrow we are heading to Kittery to visit my aunt and uncle. Mum is going to come with us. We are going to see Japanese Breakfast (a band) in Portsmouth too. It should be a lovely trip. I just signed up for Apple Music today. I think I am really going to like it! I've also been doing a lot of reading. My latest series is the Lunar Chronicles. Okay, that is all for now I think. This felt nice.

Sounds like you are having an awesome summer! Way to go on the summit! I love hiking but have never done real climbing a mountain type stuff. That is really impressive!

I grew up in Millinocket, I understand the call of the mountain. To summit it on the solstice is such a great think. Enjoy your journey it sounds to great.
