Downward Slump

We still have not cleared the boxes from our exercise bikes, so I decided to do leg stretches on our firm mattress. Ii could feel the strain on my sedentary muscles but did not realize that I had injured myself! For three days I have been limping around. Walking is painful. At first I tried walking it off. That made it worse. I have been trying massage, hot and cold compresses, and resorted to medication. I am taking cyclobenzaprine as a muscle relaxer at night. It is not muscle pain though. I took a proproxiphene last night and I am pain free today. That medication is off the market, but I have a few left. It does not leave me drowsy the next day like Tramadol, but it is no longer available.
I need to get myself off this slump. Being in pain made me more sedentary than usual, so I have gained weight. I am again 198. I have not been tracking food or exercise. If I don't reinjure myself today, I might get back on track. I am pretty despondant.

    It's tough when an injury sidelines you like that. It's not "just" the pain, it's the emotional exhaustion that comes with it. I hope being pain free for a couple of days will have you back on your path. Take care of yourself.
