storage for boxes

Tuesday, August 07, 2018

Storage units are not cheap. But I really need to get boxes of stuff (mostly papers) out of garage and house so can park car in garage and not feel like a hoarder in my home (although I might kind of be one). I know that I should just go through the boxes and throw out unimportant papers and junk. I just haven't done anything except add to it in all the years I lived here. I always say someday BUT that day isn't likely to show it's face around here.

I too save a lot of paper. But when you realize how much a storage unit costs to put stuff in you don't need it is crazy. Instead reward yourself each month with a treat for getting rid of a box or two.

You might like to stop by the Clutter Free Living team and see if we can help. It's a supportive group. I agree with DEE1221 - those storage units are a money trap! emoticon

Flylady has a great plan for just taking 15 minutes a day to tackle the clutter, and it really worked for me:

Maybe you won't need as many boxes, once you go through everything. I know how you feel though. I've been slowly sorting through stuff..paper work is the most tedious and time consuming!

You are going to get through those papers and make all kinds of room for yourself. I try to purge twice a year now that I kind of have it under control. I started with great expectations, and worked all day (one day)!! Then it was an hour here, an hour there but it go done.
Good Luck. Don't rent a storage unit or you will never get it done. Out of site ... Out of mind.
