Painting and skiing

My last watercolor painting class is tomorrow. The instructor is very good; she has a classic approach that emphasizes learning colors, value scale, and creating the illusion of volume. I'm not terrible good at the careful controlled painting style; but I have been having fun painting with my fellow student Moon. Here's my most recent (somewhat messy, non-professional!) painting.
It's a landscape scene from one of my sketches from our cruise, of the shoreline of Iceland.
Artist as work!
I've been skiing a couple of times, it is a lot of fun. I am doing easier Nordic ski trails; luckily my friend Hanne and her DH also enjoy the easier trails.
The trees had icicles
I hope you are all having a wonderful week. I'm finding it a little difficult to stay on program with the extra holiday parties and special treats being offered -- but I'm doing pretty well with the tactic of just taking a teeny tiny taste of the dessert or other tempting treat. And keeping busy with painting, outdoor activities, shopping and cleaning helps a lot too!
