getting better

It's been good since I realized my snacking needed to change or stop (well some of it). Anyway, I had a good day yesterday. I played this game where I got up from the computer and walked around the house. Hubby was still sleeping so I took advantage of the quiet and played Spider Solitare in a tournament. Love the game... lol. I got up after every two games and walked carrying 6 lb. weights. First I did it for a minute then I increased it to 2 minutes, then three. After that, I changed from walking and alternated with stretching and light aerobics to 5 minutes on the bike. All along I kept the rhythm, two games, workout, two games, workout... It was really fun and netted me a little over 4000 steps and some good stretches. I also went on my walk. But best of all is I didn't snack mindlessly during that time.
Funny thing - I seem to attract senior citizens... they just stop and chat and yesterday one followed me back to my street. Turns out he lives a street over. My hubby finds that funny.
I had an amazing salad for lunch. I cut 2 strawberries in slices, drained a snack cup of mandarin oranges (no juice needed) and got about 2 cups of spinach from the fridge. My topping was this "new" salad topping thing with pecans and dried cherries and cranberries. I took a good spoonful of that and layered all of it in my lunch bowl. I was supposed to use some sort of vinaigrette, but I dislike those things so I got a teaspoon of Ranch and set in in a small cup alongside. Turns out I didn't need the dressing at all. But oh my goodness... yummy! A small serving of sliced steak and peppers and my lunch was complete.
So I am missing a package. No, it didn't get stolen off my porch, but it might be stolen anyway. I tracked the package all the way from Michigan to Grapevine Texas. That's where the trail ends. They can't even acknowledge that they received it and there is no tracking movement since last Sunday. So lost, huh? The post office is working with me to find it. It is silly because it's only yarn, but I want my yarn and I spend over $50 on it. Last resort I have the company track it and replace it if necessary. But I want my yarn! Oh, and speaking of what I want... Hubby bought me a mortar and pestle set for Christmas. It's made from granite and sooo heavy. We got that early in the mail. I am looking forward to playing with that in my kitchen.
