My word for 2019

Saturday, December 22, 2018

As I begin the search for my “word for 2019” I look back in gratitude for those I’ve chosen since coming across this idea.

It started in 2016 and for no particular reason I chose ADVENTURE!
During that year I was faced with all the times I needed to force myself to get out of my comfort zone to find those adventures. Some were with new friends, some were new places and activities, and some were scary and wonderful at the same time.

My word for 2017 was HOPE

My word for 2018 was JOY
This is part of Fra Giovanni's Christmas Prayer
The gloom of the world is but a shadow; behind it, yet within our reach is joy. Take Joy!"

So far I’m thinking my word may be LISTEN for 2019
According to Oxford Dictionary, Listening is to give your attention to sound or action. When listening, you are hearing what others are saying, and trying to understand what it means. The act of listening involves complex affective, cognitive, and behavioral processes.

The Set-aside Prayer: from (DJBTOO— Donna)
Help me set aside everything I know, and everything I think I know, for an open mind and new experiences.

emoticon If you are someone who does this too, let me know what your word is. I’d be most interested to know.

I don't do words, but I think if I would choose, it would be "grateful". I am grateful for everything that has blessed my life, plus I'm grateful that I am still here. Merry Christmas

I love this idea - I've done several monthly 'themes' over the years, but a word for the year.................... I think I might choose 'ABUNDANCE' as I approach the year with a serious budget in mind!

I am loving the thought you put into choosing your word!

I like this, Phyllis! Good thing I've already chosen my word for 2019 or I might have been tempted to steal yours! LOL
My word is CLARITY! Maybe I'll write a blog about that too.
I like your thoughts on LISTEN and especially like the "set aside" prayer.

Haven't been posting much and I'm so far behind on 100 Days that I'll just have to jump in one day! Still having bad and better days...not a great many good ones.

I think if I had to choose a word, it would be "persist." This journey requires stubborn persistence to keep from taking the easy way out and quitting when the going gets tough.

    Have a Merry Christmas! Susan
