Christmas In California
Sunday, December 30, 2018
I enjoyed seeing my family and having a nice holiday in California. Mindy (sister) and I stayed in an AirB&B; location was convenient. My sister Pam had us over for dinner and entertained us (her adult kids were home, so her bedrooms were full).

I made a buche de noel for Christmas dinner. And my nephew supplemented it with home-made ice cream. Luckily we served tiny portions!
I ate well for the holidays. I included some special treats, but only small portions. Lots of vegetable and salads!
On the plus side over the holidays, I got plenty of exercise. My sister Pam is an avid (and very fast!) hiker. I took a slightly shorter and slower route, but I loved the views from our hike.
I also hiked with my old friend Charlotte. I was very impressed with all the turkeys along the trail! Turkeys are rare in my home town.

On my drive home, I stopped to enjoy the view of Mt Shasta covered with fresh snow.
I'm back home and back with my healthy eating plan. I ate WAY too many carbs over the holidays. I enjoyed having home-made soup and a good salad for dinner tonight!
