Happy New Year Sparks friend
Wishing you health, happiness and wellness for 2019.
My reflections on 2018, it was truly and Up & Down year personally and professionally. Let's see in a nutshell:
My eldest Grandson turned 4 in January
My niece and her wife moved back to Ottawa in March and I also turned 55 years old.
My 2nd Grandson arrived in April.
My baby turned 25 in May.
My eldest daughter moved into her own appartment in June and turned 27 in August.
My Mom was very ill this year, chronic pain. Needless to say, one of my Mom's dream was for us 4 kids to take a vacation together and we did in August. Unfortunately, my Mom was not able to spend time at the cottage she had rented for 5 weeks. My younger sister took over and DRAMA ensued. My younger sister had not talked to our family for 7 years; then in 2009 came back to the family fold. Well, more drama ensued this past week and you guessed it she is no longer talking to my twin sister and I just our Mom and baby brother.
Although, my family drama we went to Varadero, Cuba for a family vacation. We were 16 of us. Health wise for my husband it was not an easy year as well, he has several aliments: Diabetes, asthma, depression etc. He has just recently lost almost 20 pounds which is excellent for him. He would need to lose an another 20.
Myself, well, fitness wise I participated in the CrossFit Open I placed 1st in the Canada East Masters 55-59 scaled, and 3rd Canada East in February and March. In April, I did the Festivus Games, placed 3rd. Did an another competiton at my gym, placed 3rd. In all, for 2018 I had 35 PR !!! Personal records of lifting heavier, or faster time on a workout.
Needless to say, 2018 was not a good year for my weight I tried several things at my annual check-up last April I had gained 8 pounds from the year before. It demotivated me so much, I am so sick of this up and down all the time. This eternal plateau as well.
So here is to us, let's make 2019 our year. My goal is to lose that 8 pounds by May 2, why? That is my annual check-up *lol*. More to come, and thank you for all your supports and comments.
