My plans foiled by son

Friday, January 11, 2019

Today is Friday. My plans were to go to gym after breakfast which would be around 7 am and use the exercise bike for at least 30 minutes. I get up and fix my younger son a couple sandwiches for his lunch and make sure the lunch box and a bottle of water is in his backpack for school. I usually drink my cup (16 oz.) of water with tablespoon of apple cider vinegar while waiting for him to get up and off to school. I then fix my breakfast when he leaves for the bus stop. All of the sudden as I'm relaxing while watching Joyce Meyer and eating, the door opens and my son is back. He says he needs me to take him to school as he got a text when the bus arrived and he thought it would be faster for me to take him than go on the bus. The text was a reminder to go in early to finish some project. Since the bus had come and gone, I had to get ready and take him. I normally wait and get dressed after breakfast and was in my PJs. So I had to rush to throw some cloths on, put the dog up, clear the car windows so could see and drive my son to school. I thought for about a half a minute about going to the gym after I drop him off but remember that I just have on my sandals since I had been in a hurry and they would not be good to exercise in. So back home and finish breakfast but now I have lost my momentum to get to the gym. At this time calling it a rest day. And to top it off my son agreed when I got him to school that it probably wasn't quicker than if he'd taken the bus. Which I had said before going in to get ready to take him.

Hope all your plans work out today. Have a great Friday.

Hope your day got better. It's hard to get back on track when our routine is disrupted.

Hope your son appreciated throwing you for a loop. Maybe he will take better charge of his scheduling next time? Something we all have to learn as we go through life. Well, rest up, 'cause tomorrow's another day!

I still tell my daughter not to make my decisions for me, and not to change arrangements that impact on others on a whim. After several years, the message has almost got through....
