I don't and I do...

I don't run to win a race. I don't run to beat others. I don't run for a shirt, a medal or other bling. (Although, it is nice.) I don't run to get faster. I don't run to prove anything to others or even to myself, anymore.
I run to recharge. I run to be in nature. I run to feel the dirt trail under my shoes. I run to hear the crunching of snow and the padding of my dogs feet. I run to spend time with my dog. I run to be alone. I run to hang with my sole sisters. I run to be a part of a supportive community. I run with older people. I run with younger people. I run with those that are faster than I am and those that are slower. I run with 5kers and 100 milers. I run with people that look like runners and I run with those that don't fit the runner "mold."
Mainly, I run for me, how I feel when I run and how I feel when I am finished. Thank you for all that have supported me when I don't and when I do run!
