It's a journey.... week seven

My son used to call my mom “the grandma with the camera” as she was always taking photos. At times I found it annoying as I just wanted to enjoy the moment as it was but now, looking back, I am glad she took so many photos as those are memories that are precious to us. Some of them are goofy shots that we did not realize were so silly until we developed them from the negatives. Too late then to do anything about it. Now with all the digital cameras we can see them instantly and re-take as needed.
I was sorting through some papers in my desk this weekend and came across this quote that I had copied from the internet… not sure of the source but it made me stop and think about this journey we are on. What photos have we taken along the way? What memories have we stored up and what lessons have we learned?
“Life is like a camera…
Focus on what’s important
Capture the good times
Develop from the negatives
And if things don’t work out- take another shot.”
As we continue on this journey, let’s live life as though we were looking through a camera lens. and think about this:
Focus on what’s important- this is our “why.” Why am I working to get healthy?
Capture the good times- in other words, celebrate our victories.
Develop from the negatives- learn from our mistakes.
And if things don’t work out, take another shot- if we slip up today, there is always tomorrow.
In the words of Ansel Adams, “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.” Take that shot and make it a good one!
