sad news water fit teacher to leave
Thursday, February 21, 2019
I went to water fit class today and our teacher was there. She is really up-beat and has the biggest class usually cause she just makes you feel good. She is going to take another job as has better benefits. So sad to have her leave us but totally understand. Not sure exactly when she is going so hope we get a few more weeks.
I wasn't sure if my older son would be home to pick-up his brother today. He had an interview yesterday but this morning when I asked he was able to stay. If he hadn't, I would have had to miss my would-be writer's class. Last week was to be the last class but now going through March. We had 9 students today which was up from last week. The first assignment was to write about a dinner party. Mine got a lot of positive comments and of course laughs.
I hadn't been dating Bob for very long when he asked me to go to his sister's Christmas dinner party with him. It wasn't going to be very large just 3 other couples plus his sister and her husband. I was glad to have something to do for the holiday. I decided to wear my long black skirt with a red holiday sweater. Bob almost always dressed in shirt and tie. When he came to pick me up tonight was no exception.
Bob talked a lot mostly about how to get rich. He was a bit obsessed but I was glad I didn't have to think of anything to say. Just an occasional murmur of agreement. We had a long drive to his sister's but the weather was nice for Dec. even for Houston and the moon was shining big and bright.
His sister's home was large and looked like it had been a farm house long ago. We were the last to arrive and Bob introduced me to everyone. His sister came and went between the kitchen and the living room. The rest of us sit in the living room while Bob did most of the talking. I enjoyed their large Christmas tree and decorations around the room. I was starting to get very hungry so was glad when his sister said it was time to eat. There was a long table that we all fit comfortably around. As Bob continued talking, his sister would make a snide remark now and then. He didn't seem to notice.
Before we left to go home, I went to the bathroom. As soon as I came back, I could tell something was wrong. Bob was quiet. He was quiet all the way to my apartment. When he walked me to the door, he said he thought it was best we didn't see each other again. I'll never know what his sister said about me when I was out of the room nor will I be able to thank her as I was getting quite bored with Bob.
One of the student comments was that I reminded them of O. Henry. That made me happy as I love his short stories.
Hope you all had a great day and enjoy tomorrow. Weekend is almost here.
