On Monday I just didn't seem to be able to get through the line dance class. It is funny because I had missed it the day it was canceled and looked forward to it the next week. However I just didn't feel the same and I felt like I wasn't moving as well. I'm not a dancer and was just doing it mostly for movement. I decided I wanted to try something else and looked over the classes offered at senior center. They had a class at 9-10 (which is better than the 1pm line dance time) on both Monday and Friday. It is Senior Boot Camp and I went today. It says:
Senior Boot Camp (Fitness is Ageless). Fun and engaging, total body workout sessions for all fitness levels that focus on strength, muscle building, and improved stamina. For more details, pick up the class schedule at the front office.
I didn't pick up details but went to the class today. I did have a mat but I also need to take weights. The teacher had elastic bands so she gave me one to use and modified instructions. She comes to you individually if she needs to correct or instruct you on exercise. I'm not real sore but do feel it in legs and arms. The thing that bothered me most was getting down and back up several time during the hour. But at least I could do it, not gracefully nor easily but down and back up I went. I plan to go back on Monday and we'll see how long I last. Why can't more exercises be as much fun and easy as water exercise?
Have a great weekend everyone.
