question 36

Friday, April 26, 2019

This wasn't exactly asked but thought interesting about not having a car at least not when first learned and got driver's license. My son is driving our old car and I bought a new one but they are both still my cars. He thinks of it as his but I kind of let him know that it really isn't. Not sure what to do when my younger son gets his license probably this summer. As for me, I was 23 and married when I got my license and "we" had cars but I think they may have only been in his name and he did 95% of the driving. We got a second car which was my car in 1976 so I would have been 26 and it was a new Ford Pinto. Had my own car ever since and all but one bought new.

When did you get your first car?

My parents got me a used car years ago before I had my license as an incentive to get it. Didn't work. Forgot about it till just now.

I was 16 and it was a present from my grandmother. It was a very old car with all its charm, and owned by her previously. When she upgraded, she passed it on to me. It has rust spots, dents, and needed some tlc but it was my prize possession for 7 more yrs emoticon emoticon

Great memories, thank you. emoticon O emoticon

Never had my own car. It's always been a joint purchase.

As I drove my dad’s carat first, then had a company car for several years in the UK, I bought my first carat the age of 29, secondhand. I bought my one and only new car in 2008, at the ripe old age of 46!
