Writer's class

Thursday, May 09, 2019

At the party we had 8 writers show up. 7 of us started in Jan. and one person didn't start until maybe 2 months ago. Of that number I am the only one to never miss a class (15 classes before party). Today we had class 16 and 5 of us showed up. There seems to be a lot of just chatter about a lot besides writing. I found that my writing today was not the normal twist of an ending that I mostly used before. I have kind of decided that I am going to drop out maybe at the end of this month. A little was said about the up coming talent show but I would have thought we should have talked a lot more since it is in 2 weeks and nothing has been decided about who will read or what they will read. I had sent an email after the party saying that I had changed my mind about reading at the talent show as I didn't really have anything to read. She didn't respond to the email for a couple of days and then didn't really respond to what I had written but only repeated info she sent in another email to the class about us meeting today and the homework assignment. She also teaches a dance class at the senior center and has been working with them on a dance routine for weeks with special practices each week. It doesn't feel like she is that interested in having a writer's class in the talent show...Funny that it was lightly raining this morning and then sunny when we had class but a big thunder storm this evening.

Hope all of you are staying safe and dry where you are at.

Maybe there is another writer's class for you somewhere. Do they ask you to evaluate the courses you are in. You have a great way with words so don't stop writing.

So sorry about the writer's class. Sidebar conversations seem to diminish the work ethic of meetings/classes. It's necessary to have someone bring things back on topic. Maybe you'll be able to find another class.
