A lesson learned I hope.

34 Years ago my father and I were climbing a mountain on Philmont Boy Scout Camp, in New Mexico which required a special physical exam prior to being authorized to climb. He suffered a fatal heart attack as we started to descend after reaching the peak. I have outlived him but I had 5 by-pass surgery 5 years ago that apparently saved my life. Also, I had to have some stent work this spring to help get blood to my heart. The lesson is to get a real check up if you have family history of an ailment or condition and don't just hope an x-ray or scan is totally accurate. Watch for signs of the condition. And the part I have not been good at following is get in a healthy weight range and maintain an active life style. Dealing with stress is also an area that can drag you down. Had a nice visit at my parents grave this afternoon.
