Starting Over Again

It was August 8th. I was at a seminar looking at what was not working in my life. I had just walked from work to the restaurant (3.1 miles - 70 minutes) to meet a friend for dinner before the seminar. I kept remembering how I used to walk like that all the time and realized how much I missed walking. I felt empowered by my walk.
Now I am in the seminar asking myself what is not working in my life. Health and Well Being was one of the areas that was suggested. I immediately realized that was my problem area. I had let my health take a back seat, worse than that I had left it sitting on the curb at home as I drove away.
I decided then and there that it was time to pay more attention to my health. I wanted to know how far I had walked and how many calories I had burned. I remembered SparkPeople having a tool that I could map my walk. I logged in. Although I have not found the tool, I have found the willingness to pay attention to my health and put exercise back into my day and my life. Even if it is just for the bragging rights to be able to say I swam all the way across my neighborhood lake and back today! Yes, I did!
I am so grateful that SparkPeople is here to help us all on our journeys.
