Don't take your health for granted

So what started out as a simple trip to the doctor to get a refill for a prescription has turned into a full blown medical marathon. I went to see my doc Wednesday morning and simply mentioned that my legs were cramping more than usual. One look and he carted me off the Emergency Department for a possible blood clot.
The folks at the ER did their tests and scans and 12 hours later, yes I was in the ER for 12 hrs - they couldn't say if I had a blood clot or not. They weren't even sure if the swelling in the leg was caused by a possible infection.
So, I get the Rx for antibiotics and blood thinners (as a precaution) and get sent home to follow up with doctor ASAP.
Today (Thursday) I get a call from the ER doctor (NEVER a good sign) who saw me saying I needed to come into the hospital ASAP. Apparently, they've decided that they WILL treat me as if I have a blood clot AND an infection and so they want to start IV Therapy immediately/
Off, I go for round 2. This time, they took me pretty fast and started the IV Therapy quickly. I thought great, it's finally over. Little did I know that IV Therapy is a twice daily thing. So tomorrow (Friday) I have to go BACK to the hospital in the morning and night for at least a couple of days. After all this, depending on what the bloodwork says, more treatment at ER or simple follow up with GP.
All this to say - NEVER take your health for granted. I always thought I was fine. Yes, I'm overweight and could take the stairs more than I do, but other than that I thought I was healthy-ish.
If this whole thing has taught me 1 valuable lesson. When something doesn't feel/look right go get it checked out.
