That Sunday, my father-in-law's sister Peti and her husband Maxi came over and we were joined by my mother-in-law's sister Mercedes, and they prepared some traditional food for lunch. (L to R, Mercedes, Peti, Maxi, and Ma)
They had prepared a very rich turtle soup in its shell, along with some roasted platanos...
And since it was a hot day (like most days) we desserted on some of the frozen treats we were trying to sell from the bodega
It was truly a family day, as Levi's cousin by another of Papi's sisters came by with her husband and 2 of her children (Levi posed with them)
The 19th I went out with Gledy again to visit one of the sisters from church - Zoilita
The family cat, Kitty, enjoyed my company - AND my SHOES (what is it with that?)
The 22nd was Anghelo's birthday. Nora got some stuff together and I was invited to join in the festivities at his school. I had a nice conversation with the teacher, who has FORTY students in his class - but "only" 30 were present that day!
On the 24th I went to the market for some produce and bumped into sis-in-law Sonia and niece Carmen
Our local "pescadero" (fishmonger) also came by, here talking with Papi.
That Saturday afternoon I treated Anghelo to a trip to the movie theater (Angry Birds 2 - we WANTED Toy Story 4 but it wasn't playing there yet) - and of COURSE - POPCORN!
That evening, Nora and I went to a women's fellowship. The patio of the home hosting it was very nicely decorated, with the theme of Let Your Light Shine - which we do by sharing testimonies of what the Lord has done for us.
That completes another week in Peru - Here we are into the 2nd week of October and I'm still trying to catch up!
