hoping no news is good news

Sunday, October 13, 2019

I do not know exactly how the army handles injuries to the new recruits. The letter telling about the injury was on the 30th and sounded like it had been a day or two since it had happened. I have not heard anything more so that is about two weeks ago. I am just thinking no news is good news as think I'd find out fairly soon if they were discharging my son due to the knee injury. Of course it is possible that he might be able to recover from the injury but have to do the Basic training over. He would too if given a choice. Momma just a praying and told church today so they can pray.
Did my hour on the bike at gym this morning while younger son was in Sunday school. Told the church might have a buyer for building and land but would be several months before it would be final. Not sure what the church plans as far as a move or if would just no longer be in area. Definitely go until then but depends on where they might be if would follow or just find a new church.
Plan to go to movies tomorrow since it is my free day and to me a movie just isn't a movie without popcorn. That might be my lunch though. Son has said he'd like to have chicken from Canes tomorrow for supper.
I'll tell you how blind to his surroundings my younger son is. He has wanted to fix some hot dogs and hamburgers on the Foreman Grill to take for lunch but it took mom a while to wash it from last time it was used. So I washed the grill plates a couple of weeks ago and he did notice that they were washed but I thought he'd want to cook last weekend so I cleaned off a spot and put the grill together and down on counter. He didn't said anything until about Thursday as he hadn't seen it.
Guess that is about all for today. Rain expected next week and staying cooler. Have a great week.

I saw on Youtube how to use Parchment paper on the GF grill, so it has no clean up problem. It works great for fish especially, since it doesn't stick or fall apart. Show your son how to use it and save all the mess.

HUGS and don't give up hope. Frequently there are knee problems in new recruits from all the marching. Stress fractures are an example of a common injury. They will evaluate, but I'd doubt it'd be a reason for discharge. MY DS had a knee stress fracture that he healed from and was good to go. HUGS and prayers.

And yes, for DS it did lengthen basics by 3 weeks.

AS for younger son, yes, they are oblivious to their surroundings. **SIGH**

Healing prayers for DS. A movie sounds like fun. I do so want to go see Adams Family. Maybe next weekend. This weekend was insanely busy.

Have a wonderful week. emoticon emoticon
