Recipes! Changes! Choices!

As I mentioned last time, there are some big changes coming up in my life that honestly make me more than a little nervous. Besides the huge weight gain and the eternal struggle to not tear myself up about it (it's not my fault, darn it!), there have been some problems stemming from the gain. The biggest is the looming possibility of a hysterectomy. I'm 35 and while I have no plans to have any more children (I've got my guy), it was always a door I kept open in my mind. This is stressing me out more than I thought it would. It's been a pretty heavy burden that I can hopefully come to to some resolution about next week when I go see a specialist. One thing I have firmly decided is that no matter the choice I make, there are some changes that need to be made. Being stressed has done me no favors in the cooking at home department and that stops today. As I sit here typing, I've got food magazines, my recipe binder, and a brand new organizing system ready to be implemented. The organizer stuff came from The Cottage Market (https://thecottagemarket.com/
your-year/) to give credit where due, and it is so cute... and free! That was a big selling point for me :). With my son's help, I am organizing our recipes and putting in place a system that will help me plan, shop, and actually cook meals at home. I am also adding a section for meals my son will cook. He's 10 and I feel needs to be able to handle himself in the kitchen. I know that having no experience in the kitchen was something that kept me on the fast food/boxed meal bandwagon for a long time. I don't want that for him. This one change is going to keep me busy for a while as I collect and organize but in the long run, I think it may be the best thing I can do right now to set myself up for where I want to be later.
I hope you all had a great week and I wish you a good week to come!
