how to lose weight when you don’t want to actively lose weight

Did you read the title of my blog and go, huh??! I have recently become very aware of my double chin in pictures. Part of me hates it and the other part of me questions, but why do I hate it? The same goes for the rest of my body. I know I’ve gained weight but I refuse to go on a scale. I don’t look at myself with any hate but I also am panicking about wearing a dress for a holiday work party. But, I no longer want to be that girl who is annoying about losing weight. I never realized it until I stopped counting every step, every gram, every calorie, every pound, just how awful it is to be around someone who is consumed by weight loss. Now when I run into someone who only talks about their steps or macros, I realize how I came across and how people rarely got to know the other awesome parts about me. All I cared about was the number on the scale and wanted everyone to know it; as if, it meant even though I was overweight I was trying and they should like me. So, I want to lose a few lbs without actively and constantly focusing on it. I have been following Jordan Syatt on Instagram and his argument is consistent calorie deficient is all you need. I do not want to weigh my food so I am going to start roughly counting calories. I’m not going for perfection just more awareness. Oh, and way more veggies!

    that's awesome-go for it. Yeah i switched to using my weight watchers stuff-which has just been easier for me b/c it's hard to know sometimes how many calories something is...

    I mean, you can be interested in something or striving toward a goal without having to mention it every five minutes. I doubt you were as annoying as you think you were! =)

    I think it's a good idea to count calories, even roughly. I mentioned to you before that it's like a bank account. How can I know if I can afford a new lipstick if I don't know what I've already spent?

    Answer: I can't, which is fine, because I don't need any more lipstick. emoticon

    Counting calories can be rough and troubling. I simply started drinking lots of water and cutting what I eat down into smaller portions. Track everything you eat. If you go over, try to do better the next day. Keep at it!
