So much easier

When my older son was in 8th grade, he was going on a People to People trip that summer to Greece, Italy and France. To get a passport at the post office you had to wait in line and they only took so many so after waiting hours you might not get to apply. One thing that was good was my brother was staying with us so my son didn't have to get up and stand in line for hours before the post office even opened as mom did that and then his Uncle brought him up at about the time they opened. I waited three different times and never got to apply on a Sat. Once I was I think third from the last person taken so I was very early and toward the front of the line the third time only to have them not take anyone that day because the postal worker who was trained for the job, didn't make it to work that day but after a lot of complaining they gave us passes to come on Monday and get it done. My son had to miss a bit of school but we got his passport. Now they let you schedule an appointment so we went at time appointed and no line or not a lot of waiting (you are to sign in 15 minutes before appointment time). Much better. One of these days I'm going to get another passport. The last one I had was expired in 1993 I think but I have no idea where it is at. Packed away in a box with lots of other out of date papers would be my guess. He should get the passport in about 6 weeks so plenty of time before the trip in June.
My older car is due for license renewal and I need to get the inspection so that is scheduled on Monday. Not sure why I put stuff off...
I did go to gym after the post office and rode bike for an hour. I just dropped son off at home because I knew that I'd put it off if I went in the house. my weight isn't looking so good since all the eating on Christmas so just hoping it comes off by Monday.
have a great weekend all you SP.
