Another test and more waiting

Tuesday, January 28, 2020

MIL went to the orthopedic surgeon yesterday as she is in
need of a hip replacement. Yes, she needs a new hip but has
to go back to her cardiologist to get his approval first. She was
very disappointed. Hubby is also having a difficult time seeing
her in pain but this is what needs to be done.
As for me, I need to get back to business. I have slacked off and
am seeing the weight come back and that is not good. So while
he is focusing on Mom, I need to focus on me.
Life is good so push forward. Success is right around the corner-
and so is Spring.

There’s not much we can do about another persons pain I’m afraid. Support and patience. I hope that things go well, and quickly for your MIL.

Seems we tend to forget about ourselves when others need care or help. Caregivers do that. You can do it as you can see it.

Hope things go well for all involved, and you are so right---we still have to do what is
right for our health and well being. Enjoy your day.

Hope all works out. I feel for MIL, I had to have a hip replacement at the end of my sepsis ordeal and thought I don't remember it hubby and kids said that I was in horrible pain. Praying for your MIL emoticon

Awwww, sorry your MIL has to 'jump thru the hoops' to get the ok for her hip replacement. It's very difficult to wait when you're in pain. **SIGH** Hugs and prayers that things happen quickly.

And PENOWOK is right. There always has to be cardiac clearance prior to surgery when you reach 65. Just to identify any problems. Doesn't mean there's any, but . . . if there is, it allows them to make appropriate plans. Went thru that with my knee replacement. The pain is difficult for sure.

My brother and I went through a lot of the asking and waiting with my Dad, it's definitely frustrating for everyone!! I hope that any pain can be managed while you all wait.

Spring is around the corner; it's fun to read that! January is almost over and it's been a very nice month weather-wise. I'm hoping for more of the same in February and I'm also hoping that Ms. Nature doesn't feel that we must be punished in April!! emoticon emoticon

    Enjoy your day! emoticon

Hope things go well with that pre-surgery check. As Penny said, not unusual at all! But still it's hard to "hurry up and wait", as we all know.

    Spring *is* coming!

I speak from experience when I sy it's really pain filled when one needs that hip replaced. ...and by the way, our ortho docs require a heart check before going forward with the surgery also! Not unique! It isn't likely to prohibit the surgery but may require additional precautions.
