Today was a healthy eating and fitness day. It was Meatless Tuesday! God bless my DH for eating meatless today without complaint. At the start of 2019 I followed the Bright Line Eating plan. It peaked my interest in meatless eating. I took a 3 session class about Whole Food Plant Based eating through my YMCA. It was very interesting and it showed my some resources for cooking recipes. That was all the further I got in pursuing this kind of eating. Going from the Standard American Diet to Vegetarian or Vegan eating is a HUGE change and I was not sure I really wanted to follow that path totally. So the months of 2019 passed by.

At the start of 2020 Forks Over Knives offered a 21 Day Plan for changing you over to the WFPB way of eating. I signed up for the emails, but found it was not detailed enough for me. It offered a couple of recipes, but didn't do much to help me figure out what to eat each day. Even though I had the cookbooks from my earlier inquires I felt so unsure of myself that I wanted to be "hand fed". I am a very hands-on kind of learner and I find exact instruction extremely helpful. So I was disappointed, but sometimes things happen for a reason.

I also subscribe to emails from OM Daily. This sight has been very helpful to me over the past couple of years in solving some personal issues with my self-esteem/self-worth issues. It seemed right on que that I received an email that offered a 21 Day Plan. Yup. On WFPB eating. Although, the FOK plan was free, this plan was of nominal cost. It has given me daily lessons, specific menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the recipes to go with it. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and learned some things along the way.

Am I going to completely switch over to WFPB eating? Not right now. But I am incorporating many of the recipes into my daily menu plans and it is going along easily. Cooking without oils is not so difficult. I have also cut back on dairy products; especially cheese. And I have significantly increased my veggie intake. I have also been using the IE technique since my Challenge started. I do not feel deprived. I have been full enough. Cravings have taken a back burner.

As far as my fitness schedule goes - I tried another new class today and enjoyed it. One of the reasons I am trying all of these classes is because I have been contemplating giving up my Personal Trainer sessions. I have some pretty good routines in place and, although, I have really enjoyed working with a trainer, it would save me some money if I could be brave enough to go it on my own.

Are you happy with your eating and fitness plans? Do you need some change or challenge? Do you need to add a bit of excitement and a "new" feeling to your daily routines?

    Wow! I also like very detailed instructions when learning something new. I have been off from exercising since some time in December. Need to get back on it.

    Wow!!! I just commented on your Day 5 and can only say double ditto on closing out the month with positives!
    You are a champ at finding and utilizing resources! I’m all about change and keepin it fresh in many ways. I admire people like you who can follow structures! Sounds like trying new things has served you well. Of course not every program is the right one or may not come at the right time. The important part is learning to trust yourself to trust the program and give it a shot. You do that! I’m full of old cliches...some people believe you shouldn’t try to fix it if it’s not broken but I like shaking things up at times. Exercise! Chances are the trainer would take you back in a month or two if the new class thing doesn’t work out??? Keep pushing, Sue!

    I am happy with my diet plan and I use my treadmill about 3x a week.

    I have plenty of excitement in my family, so I am not focusing on my diet. Just following it as it helps me have a healthier body.
