Savoring the moments.

Saturday, February 01, 2020

The older I get the more I realize the importance of those moments of being fully present, loving people, loving life. I look back, and the powerful moments come to me one after another. I can still feel them if I try. But, as I look back I'm also struck by the blur between these standout moments. How can so much of life be a blur? How can so much of life be task focused? How can I move through life, shoulder to shoulder with family, friends, so many others, in goal directed behavior hardly noticing the miracles we all are, the miracles we create together?

I want to savor the moments and connect with others more. Because you never know when the next indelible moment will come out of nowhere.

Thanks for the reminder to enjoy the moments, not just rush on to the next task. emoticon

I was just thinking about this same thing. I was thinking about High School and my memories of being there. I don't have a lot, but just an overall feeling of when I was there. I can probably point out 10 occurrences.

And when I worked for a large production home builder, they would inspect the decorating in the model homes and look for "memory points" in the house. If is was decorated too vanilla, they would ask the decorators to add a wow moment in more rooms. They wanted their customers to have an emotional experience and hence buy a house!!

Your thoughts make me wonder how to create more "memory points" in our lives. Thanks for sharing.
