New Challenges

Monday, February 10, 2020

Some weeks it's all about making time for cardio and strength training. Some weeks, it's all about healthy portions and nourishing foods, not restricting. Priorities and readjustments cuz life is unpredictable.

My daughter is getting married this Saturday. Work days are long and stressful. DH has been sick off and on (more on) for the past three weeks. I'm starting to feel like I may be getting it.

So the focus is nourishing foods, rest, echinacea tea, positive thinking and yoga to get me through Saturday healthy. If I fall apart on Sunday, that will work for me.

They had a civil union a year ago and now having a ceremony to turn it into a marriage. It's not a traditional wedding. She has a very cool day and evening planned at a rock club.

I took a rest day Sunday. DH and I on the couch all day watching a few movies, including Father of The Bride (the Steve Martin version). I've seen that movie hundreds of times (the Spencer Tracy version maybe 5 or 6 times).

Sunday, I..... could.... NOT.... stop..... crying! Then that google commercial played, where the man asks google to remind him of his late wife Loretta. Made me miss my late mom and wished she would be here for the celebration.

DH sat a box tissue next to me. emoticon

I'm totally cool with the unconventional wedding they have planned but there's a tiny part of me that would love to see her walk down the aisle in a wedding gown with her dad.

Such is life, go with the flow and change focus when life throws challenges at you.
