Traveller Returns...25lbs Heavier

I have actually been living overseas for the past five years (UK and Ireland), with a brief return to Canada between visas. During that time my access to the internet was either sporadic or not in my budget, plus I wasn't even thinking about exercise and healthy eating. I assumed all the adventuring I was doing would balance out all the food... but now that I have returned and acquired a weight scale I really don't like the numbers.
A friend of mine is into fitness, body building, healthy eating, and all that, so she is going to be helping me figure out a better meal plan and exercises to help me slim down to a more healthier size. And for the next month I am going to be caring for my mother who will be undergoing surgery later this week, but thankfully she has a variety of exercise equipment I can use since going to a gym is not feasible or affordable.
The plan is to keep track of my progress on here, but it won't be the first time I've tried and then forgot and then gave up when I should have just started over the day I remembered. Hopefully I can spend this coming week getting things organized for my health journey and just life in general so I can reach all my goals.
