Foil Wrapped Roast Beef Sandwiches

Wednesday, February 26, 2020

Here’s another recipe I make. These sandwiches are so yummy and easy to make. You don’t need to use the sliced roast beef. You could make a roast or round steak in the crock pot, shred it and use that. I call these Foil Wrapped Roast Beef Sandwiches. You start by preheating your oven to 400 (not that I camp, but you can also heat these up over a camp fire.) I first cut the French bread in half. Then I sliced the bread 3/4 of the way through so the loaf still stays together. Then you mix 1/2 cup of Country Crock (you can use whatever butter/margarine you want as long as the better is softened) and the packet of Hidden Valley Ranch Mix together. Then you butter the insides and outsides of the bread. You then take your cheese and fold it in half and put it in every other bread slice. Next you do the same with the roast beef. Wrap the two half loaves in aluminum foil so that there is no bread showing. Put in the oven for 10 minutes. You will want to turn the loaves every few minutes to make it crispy on all sides. Tear a part and enjoy. These also taste good with some au jus to dip them in.

When I calculate the calories for these, I just add up the individual parts that make the sandwiches so the calorie count can vary with what meat you put in. Here is the calorie count for the way it is pictured (2 sandwiches:) Total calories: 525, Total Fat: 22, Total Carbs: 48, Total Protein: 36.
