People and Criticism and My Daughter

Recently I read Terri Blackstock's book Smoke Screen. About a woman who is going through a very emotional time. Her ex husband pushed on by his manipulative father is suing for custody of her 2 children.He wants to make himself look good so he can win the mayoral race. Yet he is so busy running around to functions that he hardly has enough time for them and his bimbo wife goes shopping and hires a babysitter for them. The pressure becomes too much and she starts drinking. A guy she once dated comes back and his dad who was releases from prison. The point is this guy is the one she turns to and he helps her defeat her problem in the end and keep the kids.

I went on Goodreads and here is some women complaining that the woman was a wimp and that she was weak for needing a man. Excuse me but were the women who were wives of our presidents weak? Were they not just as strong as they were? God created women to complete men. None of the women in the Bible were weak. It is like criticizing the author when you lamabast the characters. They do not understand how addiction works and how the cravings for food, alcohol, drugs or any other thing takes over a person's mind. How it is all they think about. It is the addictions that make people weak not leaning on a man.

I am dealing with my own little problems. Recently I bought some paczkis at the store. 4 for about 5 dollars and I do not want to throw then away so I cut them in half and only ate a quarter. But sweets are not my only problem; I like playing games on the computer or reading. I admit I have been spending too much time doing that. That is even worse than the sweets.

My daughter has been having severe diarrhea symptoms from her IBS this past week. She has been losing way too much food and it has caused her to gain weight now. We had to wait for a replacement scale from the company who made it so she could weigh again . We got it today; bad news. She gained a lot of weight and since she knew the insurance company would kick her out of the program she decided to call it off herself by sending the gastro person a message. If you gain more than 5 pound you are kicked out for a whole year. She is very depressed now and so am I . But I will not overeat on sweets I will pray instead.

I have lost 4 pounds in 2 weeks so far and hope to keep it up. Also need to be a good example to her. She needs me now to support her. Please pray for her.This is a very severe blow for her.
