I’m Free - Panniculectomy Surgery Update 6 Weeks PO

Thursday, March 12, 2020

I went to my surgeon’s office yesterday for my 6 week follow up (6 weeks technically isn’t until Friday) and he gave me the all clear to get back to my life. No restrictions. I was practically bursting to get back to working out so that is what I did once I returned home. This is me back at it. So freaking happy! I decided to only walk so I could easy myself back into it but I think I overestimated what easing means. I walked 2 miles at a pretty fast clip. About an hour later my abdomen swelled up so much it looked like I was about to give birth. Today, I am sore. So lesson learned. More easing less full speed ahead. I am taking today to recover and will get back at it tomorrow at a slower pace and maybe less distance. I will try to not push so hard.

Your joy is infectious and I feel happy for you. Your hard work has paid off big time! emoticon
Deep tissue healing is key. We see the outer incision heal and think we're all better. But it takes longer for your insides to heal. Allow for that time and there will be no stopping you! emoticon emoticon emoticon

You have so much to be happy about. Glad your body told you when you'd had enough exercise. You'll be so pleased once you don't even notice that you've had surgery. I'm so excited for you. Keep up all your hard work. You're an amazing success!!!!

I must confess I had to look up the surgery , and ouch ! But take it easy on yourself . Break your walks up while you are continuing to heal ! Sometimes our motivation gets the better of us !

emoticon wow! funny, just heard that word last night in a show I stumbled across - so tickled you were able to do that... full healing, deep tissue healing seems to always take longer than we think it should, so hang in and imagine it will take time to rebuild and strengthen the core - without injuring the newly formed tissue... but it is going to be so awesome when you're back full strength and can kick it! so awesome! Hang in!
