Spring Family Time

Friday, April 17, 2020

Some months on the calendar are more hectic than most. These are the months that have holidays and other important days mixed together. Most people would immediately thing of the November - December months to be particularly busy. And, it is a busy time for me too with Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas. (My family is an interfaith family) . There is a lot of celebrating and eating. Then February rolls around and we have my B-day along with Valentine's day. I always struggle with my weight loss plan until after February. I always breathe a sigh of relieve after Valentine's day.

However, Spring time probably is the busiest time for me, especially for a tax accountant. emoticon This year we had Passover, Easter, then the April 15 deadline (which was extend to July 15 but the government started more programs due to COVID-19 that it caused just as much work but not tax related ) and then my DD's birthday all within days of each other. In the past we have always done some of the celebrations by going out to eat. This year due to COVID-19 we actually hosted small family get togethers - under 10 people. Getting together with family was so much fun. However, I have spent more time cooking, cleaning and rearranging furniture (so we did not sit so close together at the dining table) in a long time that I forgot how exhausting it can be....next year hopefully, we can get back to celebrating in a sit-down restaurant.

Nice that you were able to get together. We are medically fragile (especially my husband) so we have to visit by phone, text, FaceTime or Zoom. You are right...who knew how much we took restaurant dining for granted??

Family is AWESOME. COOL you could do that.

Hopefully now you can relax a little bit. PHEW that part is over, but it'll make June and July busier. A GOOD WOMAN'S WORK IS NEVAH DONE.

Nice that you were able to celebrate with family! We were fortunate enough to have our family here a few weeks ago - before things got even crazier - to celebrate hubby's birthday. It is hard to stay on track with diet when we have times of celebration though. Christmas is usually my biggest challenge because I like to bake - and enjoy it! Good luck getting on track and recuperating from all the activity!

This was the first year we had our income tax prepared and mailed out before the 15th. And then the day was extended. Wow.
