Quarentine 2020

Tuesday, April 21, 2020

I've been following our "safer at home" rules since March 16th when everything changed. Gym closed, no school for kids, my job moved me home to work from home, my husband is considered a non-essential worker so he is also stuck at home. Weather sucks for spring. We keep getting snow and cold temps. I'm tired of being stuck in the house. I'm tired of not having social communication with people. I'm tired of working everyday while other people complain they can't work and are just watching tv all day. I had been consistently going to the gym 3 days a week since October and now I feel stuck. My legs are stiff from lack of walking and just evendaily activities. I'm sad because Covid is controlling every aspect in life. I can't go to church, shopping, visit with friends or family, go to my cabin or celebrate birthdays as we normally would. I'm just frustrated and its affecting my willpower and drive. I know this affects all of us so its not just me. This is not how 2020 was supposed to be!! I know I'm negative and for that reason I've stayed off SP. Maybe next week will be better...then I'll be back. Stay safe my friends!

I am so sorry that you are feeling this in this way. This is a hard time of our lives and we don't know where it will end.

My answer to this is "stay busy" ... home with housework, calling friends to try to encourage them or sympathize with their problems; walk or other exercise as much as possible. I do most of my walking inside and it works out well most days..

Take care of yourself and don't let your emotions take over your life. We are all in this together and it isn't easy on any of us.

Sometimes you just need to vent. This will pass, but in the meantime, use Sp to vent. You have to let off steam somewhere.

I feel you. My kids are grown and out of the house but other than that, I'm the same. I've been working from home since March 14th, my husband was furloughed the following week, my gym closed down.

It's hard many days but we can get creative, there are spark workout videos. Where I am I can still go out for walks and runs. The few nice weather days, we had people stop by, we sat in the garage and our visitor sat on the driveway.

Are you on Instagram? I follow Ryan.Heffington, an owner of a California dance studio who live-streams an hour of dance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and weekends. Nothing structured, just fun jumping around to fun music, so I try to plan my lunch around that when possible, puts a smile on my face.

I do zoom meetings with family and friends. Not the same but it's getting me by. Julie Andrews started a story time podcast I'm going to check out. I mean, Mary Poppins reading to me. How great is that?!

Youtube has a ton of workout and yoga videos.

We have a lot to be sad about but let's hang in there. I'm with you in spirit.
